Roundup herbicide causes smorgasbord of fatal diseases, new study concludes
Strategies are grouped under seven common elements that connect environmental justice, smart growth, and equitable development:
- Facilitate Meaningful Community Engagement in Planning and Land Use Decisions
- Promote Public Health and a Clean and Safe Environment
- Strengthen Existing Communities
- Provide Housing Choices
- Provide Transportation Options
- Improve Access to Opportunities and Daily Necessities
- Preserve and Build on the Features That Make a Community Distinctive
Big data absolutely has the potential to change the way goverments, organizations, and academic institutions conduct business and make discoveries, and how its likely to change how everyone lives their day-to-day lives.
In the next five years, we will generate more data as humankind then we generated in the previous 5,000 years.
Spotlight on Manufacturing
America’s economy is built on manufacturing, and
clean energy companies are building on that tradition.
Companies made at least 35 announcements
involving clean energy manufacturing projects in the
past quarter. These announcements mirror findings
recently released by the Bureau of Labor Statistics,
which determined that the manufacturing sector
leads in the creation of “green goods and services”
jobs that now employ a total of 3.1 million Americans.4
Jobs in manufacturing add more value on an exportbasis
to the U.S. economy than jobs in the economy
as a whole. This further reinforces the finding from
Brookings Institution that a job in the clean economy
has a median export value twice that of a job in the
economy as a whole.
Companies and programs large and small, start-up and established, are creating jobs
The jobs announcements over the three months feature a wide range of companies: major multinational corporations
like GE, Nissan, and General Motors, as well as small, entrepreneurial start-ups. Innovative companies are also
retooling their operations to take advantage of the growth in clean energy. Michigan-based Energetx, formerly a
luxury yacht manufacturer, used its expertise in lightweight materials to transition into wind turbine manufacturing.
The growth in clean energy is also creating promising new companies like energy storage investment company
Townsend Energy Solutions, solar company National Solar Power, wind turbine blade manufacturer Blade Dynamics,
and many others.
These job announcements show clean energy should be a bipartisan issue
These announcements for new, better-paying jobs span 101 congressional districts, Democratic and Republican
alike. A total of 54 clean energy projects were announced in Democratic districts and 70 in Republican districts.
13 projects spanned more than one congressional district, overlapping districts represented by Democratic and

A group of local citizens working to inspire individuals and organizations – both within and outside City government – to take actions and implement polices that help make Albion a model of health and ecologically sustainable living. A group of local residents working with City government, business groups, nonprofit organizations, and other partners to protect and enhance Albion’s distinctive environmental quality and livability.
SPECIAL INTERESTS To promote green building by increasing public and professional knowledge and awareness of the benefits of green construction practices. To provide recommendations and encouragement to the City of Albion in the implementation of a local action plan for climate protection and sustainability that is crafted to be forward thinking and targeted to the unique climate and circumstances of Greater Albion. Albion’s Green Team is studying best practices in our community, the country and around the world. Together we can make a difference by implementing big ideas and small changes in the way we interact with our environment. With visionary leadership, persistence, and a strong message, this new way of life can become second nature to us all.
Most of all, there is a need to understand how important these things are to Albion.
To begin to determine the best strategies for moving forward with this cause, the “Green Team” wants to know what specific interests and concerns you might have. To accomplish this task,

Albions Turnaround Plan?
Where will Albion be?
“Failure is only postponed success as long as courage coaches ambition. The habit of persistence is the habit of victory.”
There is no reason for you to take anything too seriously right now, so lighten up! Every argument has two sides, and you should accept the fact that everyone has his or her own perspective on things.
What is recycling?
Recycling is the processing of used materials which are no longer suitable for their original purpose. The end products of the recycling process are remanufactured into new products, reducing waste and keeping valuable materials out of landfill.
Why do we recycle?
Recycling is one of the most significant things we can do to help our environment. Metals and many other materials can be recycled and used again indefinitely, meaning we protect and preserve some of nature’s finite resources.
Using recycled products instead of virgin materials during manufacturing dramatically reduces pollution and carbon emissions, reduces energy and water consumption, and frees up much-needed space for necessary landfill.
What are the benefits of recycling?
Recycling provides a solution to many of the problems facing the world today, including diminishing resources, increased energy and water use, dangerous levels of carbon emissions and ever-growing levels of waste generation.
The threat of global warming highlights just how important the benefits of recycling can be for the entire planet. With global warming directly linked to the amount of carbon in the atmosphere, it is important we act immediately to reduce these emissions.
Now that Albion has a energy and sustainability committee we need to keep this alive, regroup, move forward with positive thinking, not looking at what is not possible, but to approach it, work it, and do it, and find the resources to get it done.
